Don't Waste Your Time On Boring Movies

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Johnny Depp is one strange fellow. He always chooses the most unique roles to play and will never settle for less than entertaining. However, when he chose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he made a mistake. The biggest mistake Johnny Depp made with this character was that he tried too hard to be like the original Willy Wonka, Gene Wilder. The way that he came across was very unusual. Where Gene Wilder made the Willy Wonka character someone a little off his rocker, Johnny Depp took it to far and created a disturbing Willy Wonka character.
In addition to the actors going overboard in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and chasing people away, the changes in the film were too noticeable and inappropriate. In fact, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was a great film of 1971. It really didn’t need to be changed all that much. Sure, Tim Burton was trying to modernize the film and put his unusual twist on it, but the whole thing just didn’t work. It was not as exciting as the original.

Another thing that made Charlie and the Chocolate Factory quite boring was that it was too dark. The mood was very dull and dark which usually doesn’t work well for a youthful film like this. If films are going to be dark, they should at least be intense and dramatic. However, this one just lacked both of those things. Overall it was not even as close to being as entertaining as the original Willy Wonka film, which is a shame. For those that had never seen the original, it might have been entertaining. However, those who are familiar with the original will only be bored and disappointed.

Herbie: Fully Loaded
Anyone who has ever seen a movie with Lindsey Lohan in it will likely tell you that they are not worth your time or energy. The girl is just not made for movies outside the Disney Channel crowd. Sure, she was adorable growing up and is quite a beautiful woman. But, she is not really Oscar material, at least not with the roles she is taking on these days. Her role in Herbie: Fully Loaded was just as much a joke as her personal life is these days.

The first thing that was wrong with the movie was the casting of Lindsey in the role. Her acting was horrible! She was not believable in the role at all. In addition, Matt Dillon’s role was ridiculous as well. Maybe we can blame these professionals’ talent showing on them having to deal with a car that is alive, or at least supposed to be alive.
The next thing that was wrong with the movie was the story line. Sure, it is exciting to think of races taking place and such, but the way the writers went about explaining these thing was simply boring. The excitement was not there and there were too many predictable moments in the movie to count. Everyone knew Lindsay’s character would end up racing when he brother got hurt, and everyone knew she would run to Herbie after losing him, sooner or later. The corniness went on and on, which was enough to make a grown person vomit.
